ITA: 04 July 2012 | Correction

Correction.

Market got off to a very hot start only to see her gains melt near midday. PSEi closed in the red losing almost 11 pts. At this juncture, this is nothing but a welcome and necessary halt/correction to the bull run we have been witnessing over the entire week. This could all change though if this selling pressure continues to the rest of the week.

I have already liquidated some of my positions with quite decent gains (at least for me). 🙂

Unveiling Google Glass ‘Explorer Edition’

Google has got the world watching with great anticipation once again.

A few months ago, Google released a video about their latest product called Google Glass. It’s an augmented reality glasses designed to introduce new ways of interaction between the real and digital world. The video shows how one could interact with Google Glass on a typical day. However, it didn’t show an actual prototype of the device. To watch this video, click here.

Good Video on How Electric Motors Work

I was looking for a material which could aid me as I discuss electromechanical conversion to my students, and then I found this video.  🙂

It proved to be a great springboard allowing for more detailed discussions and lesser blank faces. 🙂

As most of Discovery Channel’s features, production was very good and the take on the subject matter is very entertaining as well. 🙂

Although an electrical engineer, I’m still amazed by how electric motors work – such a phenomenon which only the Grandmaster Planner could orchestrate.

100 Floors Update: Floors 81-90 Now Available!

I know this is not hot-off-the-oven news. But, nevertheless, its here – additional 10 floors (levels 81-90).  🙂

I had a far harder time solving these 10 floors. And I think it’s more of the frustration which kept me from solving some the levels. I am particularly not very pleased with how some of the levels needed greater dexterity than logical reasoning and analysis. And for someone having big, fat fingers, this imposed an irritating challenge. 🙂

Nevertheless, it’s still a nice feeling solving until floor 90. And as previous, I feature the floors which extended my patience. 🙂

2011 Top 15 Life Insurance Companies in the Philippines

I’m quite surprised to know that as of 2010, there are only 3.3M active policies in the entire Philippines. Take note, these are policies, not individuals – as certain people could own multiple policies.

And even if we assume all of these policies belong to distinct people, it would still lead to a lowly 3% of the entire Philippine population today.

I guess there’s still a lot of fish in the ocean for insurance agents. 🙂

I personally hold a Philippine AXA and an Insular Life insurance policy. So this table is a definite confidence booster! 🙂

100 Floors Update: 80th Floor Available!

Unfamiliar with 100 Floors? Click here.

First off, just learned last weekend that this app is also available on Android. Forgive me if this news is decade old. 🙂

Anyway, this one’s a quick update. It was a pleasant surprise though.

For some reason, I had a rather easier time solving the additional 10 floors (71-80). Must be the Mcdo burger and chips I ate. 🙂

As before, I’m featuring some floors which gave me quite a bit of a problem.
